Early Extension

  • —Hips and spine straighten up and move forward towards the ball too early in the swing.  Can occur in backswing or downswing.
  • —Pelvis moves towards the ball and spine extends upward.

  • —Common cause is limited hip internal rotation (both hips) not allowing the body to rotate around during the back & down swing.
  • —Must have ability to stabilize the pelvis with good glute and core strength.
  • —Must have ability to separate upper and lower body during downswing.
